Requires:
A2000 only
OS ROM ver. 2.04 or higher
Motherboard rev. 4.5 or higher recomended
CPU options:
68060 running at 50mhz with integrated FPU: 8 kilobyte instruction
and data caches, 80MIPS/12FLOPS or
68040 running at 40mhz with integrated FPU: 4 kilobyte instruction
and data caches, 50MIPS/8FLOPS
Features:
Full support of 040/060 burst mode
Autobooting SCSI II with DMA, standard internal connector, plus 50
pin SCSI II high density external connection.
ROMs can be loaded into RAM to speed up booting and OS operations
Can be booted on 68000 without loosing access to SCSI or Ram for backwar=
ds
compatability
Ram:
4 72pin simm sockets allow up to 128mb of ram
4 GVP simm slots are also provided
Each GVP slot is linked to a 72pin simm slot, thus if there is a GVP
simm in place, you can not place a simm in the corresponding 72pin slot,
or visa versa.
Software:
The card comes with the typical GVP software pack:
KSREMAP - the software toggle to load your OS rom into RAM
FASTPREP and EXPERTPREP 2.5 - used to format and prep hard drives on
GVP cards
REBOOT040 - used to tell the card to reboot with the 68000 cpu for
backwards compatability
when Installing the disk, Installer will also install needed libraries
(040.library and 060.library)
Notes:
This is a card designed for the A2000's accellorator slot
No space is provided to mount a device, however, a bracket is available
to do so (not included)
Does not come with a heat sync or fan for cpu
IMPORTANT:
Any drives attached to this card will not show up in HDToolBox. The
reason is that GVP uses their own propriatary disk access routines. When
Mounting new devices such as CDroms and Zip drives etc, the name to use
in tooltypes TEKSCSI2.DEVICE
The version of SETPATCH on the GVP disk is inadaquet to properly operate the card. I had to comment out SETPATCH in my startup-sequenc= e. This caused the computer to be flaky in operation. It is HIGHLY recomended that you download the latest version of setpatc= h from Aminet and set it to: SetPatch NOCACHE or something similar.
