Morgath's Symbol

Q: Where did the world come from?

Q: Where did I come from?

Q: Why am I here?

Q: What happens after we die?

Q: What of the other gods? Tell me the truth about...
Agrik Halea Ilvir Larani Naveh Peoni Sarajin Save K'nor Siem

Q: Where did the world come from?

A: In the beginning, there was only primal chaos, and Kelestia was void, and without form. All was good. All things were of the chaos and were one with the chaos. Then came the Immutable Ones, who stood against the chaos. They separated themselves from the chaos and, presuming too much upon themselves, began to separate things from the chaos, creating the Lesser Gods, the worlds, the stars, and man. They imposed unnatural order where only natural chaos had stood before, changing and warping Kelestia forever.

Q: Where did I come from?

A: In their folly, the Immutable Ones pushed back the chaos. In their unnatural order, they were no longer at one with the chaos or with each other, and strife began between them. They created the Lesser Gods, who in turn created the worlds as we know them, imposing further order on the chaos. These Lesser Gods created mankind to fight their wars for them. That is why strife and death and suffering abound. As long as we are separate from the primal chaos, it will always be so.

Q: Why am I here?

A: Because the Wreaker of Chaos wills it. His aims cannot be known to mere mortals. Of all the Gods, only the Wielder of the Shadow can comprehend the truth of the primal chaos. Thus we cannot truly understand his actions. We must trust his judgments and the judgments of those who are closer to him than we. Your purpose on this world is to serve the Wielder of the Shadow, to fill the world with chaos, that others may see that it is the natural way of things. Sow discord and shatter those orders which are unnatural.

Q: What happens after we die?

A: For the those of the true faith, we will go on to serve the Wreaker. He Who Holds Bukrai, He Who Is Unfathomable will set forth our destiny. We will give unto him our souls that he may feed them to Bukrai, which is all that is left of the primal chaos. After having gifted our souls to him, we shall spend our half-lives eternal to further his aims and bring back what was lost. Others are not so lucky. If their Gods are kind and claim them on the fields of Yashain, they will serve their craven deities and war upon each other for all eternity. Those that are not claimed belong to the Tormentor. He will use their souls to further his aims. Better to serve the Wreaker than to be cast unwilling into the Shadow. Better a half-life eternal in the Wreaker's service than a full-life cut short and doomed to eternal torment or pointless strife.

Q: What of the other gods? Tell me the truth about...

A: Agrik- Of all men, followers of Agrik are closest to the aims of the Wreaker. But they have lost sight of the true goal. They are blinded by their hatred and have lost direction. If their strife could be focused they could be useful, but they are dangerous and quick to anger. Be wary of them.

Halea- Halea is selfish and greedy. She seeks only her own pleasure. Her followers waste their time seeking pleasures in this world; unheeding of the joys of serving the Wielder of the Shadow for eternity; unheeding of the transitory nature of this world and the conflict in the next.

(Up)

Ilvir- Ilvir sits in his tower brooding endlessly. He is one of the most hated of the Lesser Gods. He creates things, modeling them on his own twisted thoughts. Every creature he spawns adds more order where once chaos ruled supreme. But Ilvir is craven and his cowardice will be his downfall. Soon the Wreaker of Chaos will undo his foul, unnatural works and the primal chaos will once again be whole.

Larani- The most dangerous of all the other gods, accursed Larani and her followers would see us destroyed and seek to subvert the advance of chaos at every turn. She represents the highest example of all that is accursed in order and unnatural law. She is strong and we must be cautious. The Wielder of the Shadow will know when the time is right, and then not even the Lady of Law will be able to stand against the natural way of things.

(Up)

Naveh- Naveh is presumptuous. He styles himself as Master of Death, seeking to usurp our Master's power. Perhaps he is jealous of the Wielder's command of Bukrai, the Shadow darker than even Naveh. His assassins are misguided and not to be trusted. They are as presumptuous as their Lord and must be taught their proper place.

(Up)

Peoni- Sister to Larani, Peoni is symbolic of the same weakness. The Lady of Harvests preaches that all things happen in cycles. Birth, life, death. Planting, growing, harvesting. Who is she to impose such order on the chaos? She is the most insidious of the Lesser Gods because she speaks to the common man, lying to him and wooing him with gifts of food and child to fatten him and soften him to the true goal: the return of chaos. She must be stopped at every turn, her servants culled from the people at every opportunity.

(Up)

Sarajin- Followers of Sarajin are to be hated. As if pointless misery and strife in the afterlife was not bad enough, they have chosen to impose order on even the strife itself. Their ludicrous Ljarlic Code is an affront to all that should be. They are brash and must be taught their place, but their love for battle makes them dangerous in open conflict. Their Ljarl makes them predictable foes, however. Thus their order is their weakness, as order is always weakness.

(Up)

Save K'nor- Save K'nor is the Keeper of the hated Illimitable Tome. In their folly, the Lesser Gods imposed order upon even themselves. They did this to keep Kelestia from being ripped apart, ignorant of the fact that this would only bring the return of the chaos and all would again be as one. Save K'nor is the most ignorant of them all. For all his learned airs, he knows naught of the power of Bukrai. Still, his rules are useful as they limit the other Gods, keeping them in check while giving the Wreaker time to plot. Save K'nor is a necessary evil that will one day be handled harshly.

(Up)

Siem- Ever jealous of Bukrai's power, Siem could not wrest the Orb from the Wielder's grasp and retreated to his "Blessed Realm". He is a coward and not to be trusted, for he seeks to poison the hearts of the other gods against the Tormentor. His children are among the most dangerous foes of this world.
