Rico Suave was born to his parents Cortez Suave & Celeste Milan. He grew up in an upper-middle class family with three older sisters (Jade, Aliana, & Kyra). His home is a medium sized ranch outside Velsha. A perfect location for a huntsman and a noble warrior. Since Rico was young, he was trained in the rapier by his father. Celeste taught him survival and feats of dexterity she felt were essential for all elves to know. Because of his older sisters, he was always well dressed and well mannered (a trait that helped him to become quite the ladies man).
By his teen years, his natural elven features (from his mother's side) and his high charisma made him known to the townspeople as a nice, bright young boy that you kept your daughters away from at all costs. He loved his home and family life, and since friends were easy to come, he was quite content. But his teenage years passed and his sisters married and moved away. One day he received a letter from Valerian Talon, the son of Elvardin Talon BladeSinger. Valerian and Rico had been friend throughout their childhood as their mothers were lifelong friends. Valerian's letter asked if he would like to get away for a while and see the sights. For Valerian, being an elf, a while could mean several years.
He showed the letter to his parents, who both agreed that it might do him some good to be on his own. As Rico was making preparations to depart, his father handed him a suit of leather armor. Cortez explained that this armor was the best armor ever crafted by Rico's grandfather (an expert armorsmith) and it would give him the extra protection he needs. Cortez also explained that his grandfathers last wish was to pass this on through the generations, "so guard it with your life."
