The Game: Week 4

"Only Good Zun is a Dead Zun!"

Posted 29 Aug 99
The compass is (evidently) pointing in a direct easternly direction. You quickly guess this because of the fact that as you peer out into the forest, you find yourself looking right into the morning sun. The cliff is behind you. The sun being still low in the sky makes looking forward difficult to say the least. You can feel the sun upon your brow, neither it nor your anticipation is helping to keep to keep you from sweating. You smell a very foul odor. You try to decide if it is your enemy or merely Farlont relieving himself of a few unneeded gases.

As Caledon reaches the top of the cliff and begins to draw his weapons, somewhere nearby from the cover of the trees, a nervous young man's voice can be heard, "Attack! Attack! Kill them all!"

There is an unhurried rustling of tree branches and shrubberies. The branches begin to move away as nearly a dozen large zun walk into the semi-clearing that you are occupying. The zun stand nearly seven feet tall and appear to be wearing some weird variation of studded leather armor. They are all carrying spiked clubs, yet they do not have them held in an offensive manner. You may not be an expert on zun, but they all appear to be drugged or under some kind of mental control. Their eyes have a weird far-away glassy look to them.

Farlont yells, "Zarl depsa wrimpt queswir?" When he receives no response or better still no acknowledgement, he yells, "Party on!" He then rushes the closest few zun to him.

Kenervon holds his quarterstaff defensively, Varlus steps behind Kiranyan while chanting, Shaizan pulls his shortsword, Pheylan is hefting a rather large stone in his right hand, and they wait for the zunn to approach.

After Caledon has his longsword free of its scabbard, he moves forward to engage.

Shameron had her bow ready with an arrow noched and is preparing to loose her attacks.

Kiranyan moves into the front between Farlont and Caledon and seems almost as eager as Farlont to lay into them. "Snap, crackle, and pop..," Kiranyan apprears to be muttering with a slight giggle.

Shameron doesn't want to attack these zun, but she knows in a moment she will have no other choice. She looks past Caledon to Kiranyan and shakes her head a bit. "I hope this is not the calm before the forest fire."

Pheylan
Upon hearing the command issued from the woods and seeing the state of the large Zun coming at the party, Pheylan runs around the furthest Zun and then turns slightly, heading into the woods.

Farlont
Since they didn't respond to me, I lay into them. I quickly loose myself from my make-shift chest-backpack, and move in to confront my kin.

I yell, "Gimme yur best or nothin at all! Don't matter to me!" I grip my massive oaken two handed spiked monster war club of death to the point that anyone near me can hear the wood groan a bit. I move to my right a bit to make sure that I have at least a couple that can only get to me. I am counting on Kiranyan to take the next few over from him and protect that Laranian that thinks he will survive out here.

I kiss my favorite spike for good luck and wind up for the pitch. I scream a blood-curtling war-cary and swing...

[I am trying to separate the head from the body, if that is possible. On an exceptional hit, I am actually trying to fire the head into the woods in the direction the voice came from.]

Caledon
Upon seeing Farlont rush forward, to what could quite possibly be his death, especially without my assistance. I move forward wanting to prove to both Farlont and the Zun, that this is one acolyte of Larani who you don't want to mess with. I enter into the melee with the Zun, concentrating on one until they are properly disposed of before continuing to wreak havoc on the unsuspecting Zun.

This weeks gaming will be delayed until Sunday. I ran into a few hitches with the combat and am working then out. Some of you may be receiving a new character sheet, please make note of any changes. One change of note for a few of you it the absence of any weapons possessed. Simply taking a proficiency doesn't automatically put the weapon on your belt. Never fear the game will resume Sunday.
